Who we are

Universal Labs is a small design and engineering studio based in London. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it. If you have any questions, email us at mariaf@thisisuniversal.com.

What we collect

The only information we collect is what you choose to send us through the contact form or by email:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your company name, if you give it
  • the message you write

We do not use analytics tools, advertising trackers or cookies on this website. We do not build profiles of visitors, and we do not sell or share your details with anyone for marketing.

How we use it

We use the details you send us for one purpose: to reply to you and talk about your project. Our lawful basis for this under UK data protection law is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries we receive, and, where a project goes ahead, taking the steps needed to enter into a contract with you.

Who handles the data

Messages from the contact form are delivered to our inbox by Resend, an email delivery service, and stored in our email account. The website itself is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability. Both providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to follow up with you. If we do not end up working together, we delete them within twelve months. If we do work together, we keep the correspondence for the life of the project and as long afterwards as we are required to for accounting and legal purposes.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email mariaf@thisisuniversal.com and we will respond within a month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
